You can do large mailbox migrations into the tenant, but you may want to put some filters in place for the content and take them directly into the Archive mailbox if that is enabled on the target tenant. You may be better off using a paid tool like MigrationWiz for this type of migration though. In there you can filter it nicely and direct it straight into the archive without much work. @@thecloudgeezeri have a query, i want to transfer the domain as well to new registrar, so i shall remove the domain from M365 godaddy and then initiate a domain transfer request to another registrar or it is the otherway around. Also after migrating do we not have to add X500 addresses of the deleted account into new one?

Hi. I think the order of operation would be best as. 1. Migrate all your data from the GoDaddy Tenant to a 'real' tenant. 2. Defederate the domain and get it moved over to the new tenant. 3. Then move the domain name to the new registrar. Now I realize that sounds like 3 simple steps, but obviously there are plenty of tasks relating to those items that will expand the to-do list there. Well well well, that is a good question because I had a previous video where they were not blurred out. I got flagged for a cyber security incident in the video and it was taken down. Google thought that I was sharing peoples email addresses !! Even though I explained in the appeal that they were all demo/fake addresses, it still got banned. So I had to repost it with the email addresses blurred which I know is absolutely terrible. Sorry about that. Mark.

Yes there are currently issues with the Google API as they are heavily throttling the extraction of data from the GSuite environments. Extremely frustrating but I hope there is a resolution soon. As for the IMAP connector, I don't have a video because to be honest I haven't used it in years! I can look at putting one together though if this throttling continues.

Yes that is exactly the process. You are getting blocked by the level of administrative rights you had.

You can only have 25 E5 licenses in the E5 dev tenant. However, it is possible to purchase additional E3 licenses for about $8 per month. Still for development only but that can help. Go to the Purchase Services option in the Licensing Tab in the Admin Center to find it. Mark.

Hi. Yes, that's a good question. In the application profile for InTune you can tell it how you want to handle that sort of thing, but yes by placing a new version in InTune you can get it to push the update out to all machines. I think I might do another video on exactly that subject.

What you do is go into the advanced options in the project and your can specify the 'regex' query (examples are there) on how to limit a migration of a mailbox to just particular folders. Yes that is enough. If it just sits there with the Waiting to Install flag then it should do it within a few hours at the longest. However, if it finds an issue then you should see that in the logs. I would suggest having a look at the workstation details in the InTune console and see if anything there is showing any red flags. First place to look, then making sure that the workstation and user fit the criteria. Sometimes I have seen this when the workstation is in scope but not fully compliant (windows update pending) things like that. Worth a look.

That can happen, and sometimes the backend systems do reject emails. If you make sure that the SPF/DKIM is all setup that will improve deliverability. Yes, I agree, the initial setup is semi-automated inside the Migration Manager console of M365. It also does some other things around the setup of the forwarding domains etc. on the Google side. Basically a few different migration concepts in play there in how they perform the migration itself. MigrationWiz looks to just drop the data content from one live account to another and then you perform the cutover yourself. This approach can often be a simpler one but it does depend on your actual situation and needs. Drop me a note to mark@thecloudgeezer.com if you need any thoughts or guidance in what you are doing.

Did you add an email address to send to inside the DMARC record? If you just set to P=100, with an action of None, then although the DMARC record exists, it doesn't actually perform any tasks. The better option is to set a REJECT option and then you should add the email address for the DMARC reports to go to. It is interesting what comes through those. In a migration using native tools for GSuite to M365, no the source is not deleted by the migration tool. Good to know, as if you perform a cross tenant M365 to M365 migration with the native tools then it does delete the source account.

Hi. It doesn't affect the Google connection, just the target endpoint on the M365 side. Have a look at the new videos in the channel as they go through the newer API setup that has been released in the last week or so.

That will be because you may have setup a Client Secret in the UI for the destination endpoint, but haven't configured the management scope etc. I have recently put out a new video explaining this new process.
